Improved
Jira Integration Update: Nested Comments and OAuth Authentication
17 days ago by Rebecca Henrique
We’ve rolled out two important improvements to the Userback ↔ Jira integration, making collaboration smoother and connections more secure.
Key Features
Nested Jira comment sync: Jira comments now sync as nested (threaded) replies between Jira and Userback. This means conversations stay structured and easier to follow, no more flat comment streams or lost context.
OAuth-based Jira connection: New Jira connections now use OAuth instead of API tokens, providing a more secure and reliable way to connect Userback with Jira.
How It Works
Nested comments
- Replies in Jira sync back to Userback as threaded comments
- Replies in Userback sync to Jira the same way
- Conversations stay organized, with full context preserved on both sides
OAuth connection
- When setting up a new Jira integration, you’ll be guided through an OAuth flow
- No API tokens required
- Existing Jira connections continue to work as-is

These updates make collaboration clearer, reduce back-and-forth between teams, and provide a more secure, easier way to connect Userback with Jira.
